I had a great nurse her name was Kim helpful kind and considerate
Surgery keeps losing prescriptions and after 2 loses and visiting the
Receptionist, poor service from the Receptionist.
29th August went to collect my prescription that went missing last week and The Esplanade Surgery promised me it would be ready next day, obviously it wasn't.
Enough is enough I went into the Surgery and advised them I want to make a complaint about the Surgery.
The Surgery appears to be Incompetent and on many occasions they lose prescriptions. I wouldn't mind the Chemist I use is only next door to them.
Also I do not appreciate Receptionists discussing my medication needs, some receptionists at the Esplanade Surgery think they are UNTRAINED DOCTORS.
My experience left me feeling unwell and anxious
They make patients feel as though they are in the wrong when the mistakes are made by the Surgery staff themselves.
Healthcare on the Island is becoming a concern.
I was booked in for an urgent appointment today. I don’t have a permanent home at the moment so I asked to be a temporary patient. The receptionist was quite happy to confirm appointment. When I got there, my appointment was CANCELLED as I did not live within Ryde jurisdiction! (Nothing of this was mentioned over the phone). I was anxious about my health issue, I left work earlier to make sure I would be on time. However, I can not believe HOW RUDE THE STAFF WERE. One particularly lady was not interested or empathic at all - she turned me away with several SHOUTY APOLOGIES - as she waited for me to leave. When I asked what she meant by JURISDICTION and how this affected me - as I told her I was staying in different hotels, she pulled out a folder from the back pointing at the Ryde area and HOW I DON’T FIT “THEIR CRITERIA”. I have never felt so insulted and embarrassed in my life. Especially at a GP where you expect compassionate staff!
This practice has gone downhill especially when trying to book an appointment. I phoned daily exactly at 8.30am for 2 weeks, only to be told there were no appointments and to try the next day. When I asked for a fixed appointment, I was told to try again in 7 weeks time. The receptionist was absolutely useless and went out of her way to fob me off. I am in pain and need to see a GP to get examined, but all I got was a load of personal questions from a rereceptionist who is not a GP!
My care and wellbeing is totally ignored at this practice and the GP's should be disgusted of the way their practice is being run. Now I have nowhere to turn unless I go to the hospital. But I tried that and got told off for not following procedures. I have to get a referral from my GP, but how can I do that if I can't get to see one.
